About
NMDOG is an in-the-trenches rescue serving the chained, the abused, the abandoned dogs of New Mexico. Headquartered out of Albuquerque, this small, 501(c)3 non profit, all volunteer, foster based rescue was established in 2010, touching the lives of thousands of dogs ever since. Reaching out across the state, our motto is “Whatever needs to be done to better the life of a dog, we will do it with Fierce Determination.” Our Mission: To serve and protect New Mexico’s Forgotten Dogs. Through our website and active presence on Facebook, NMDOG details the pursuit of its core goals: rescue, outreach and education.
Collaboration with law enforcement, other rescues and animal welfare organizations, businesses and individuals who support our goals has been a key component of NMDOG’s success. NMDOG has been in the forefront of efforts to expand anti-tethering ordinances throughout New Mexico and we have been a key component in multiple high-profile cruelty cases across the state. NMDOG and its Founder/Director Angela Stell have been honored with many awards over the years, including the NACA Diane Lane Memorial Award, the NMHC Animal Advocate of the Year Award, the Petsmart Charities Collaboration Award, the Best of Burque “Bet Pet Rescue” Award, 2nd place in the Albuquerque Journals Readers Choice Award for “Best Albuquerque Non Profit,” and “Best Place to Adopt a Pet,” and was named an Albuquerque Business First Non Profit of the Year. NMDOG Co-Founder and SoulDog JoJo, was also honored as the APNM Milagro Animal Hero Award winner for his lifetime of service to chained dogs.

About
Watermelon Mountain Ranch was founded in 1996 by Lee and Sophia DiClemente whose love for animals continues to flow through the day-to-day operations at the Ranch. What began as a grassroots effort with a small dedicated group of volunteers has grown into New Mexico’s Largest No Kill Animal Shelter, encompassing a 10 acre main campus facility, two resale stores, offsite adoption centers and various humane programs serving the community.
These programs include our Canine/Feline Foster Care, Humane Education, Volunteers, on- site Vet Clinic, Lee’s Retirement Village (for senior dogs), Don’s Angel Fund (for injured animals), and our most successful program, Molly’s Mercy Missions (saving animals facing euthanasia in shelters across the Southwest and Juarez Mexico). Since the inception of Watermelon Mountain Ranch, we have helped to save the lives of over 150,000 animals, placing them in loving homes.

About
Safe Haven Animal Sanctuary is located some 10 miles east of Las Cruces, New Mexico. The three-acre sanctuary, which houses up to 45 dogs and 35 cats, includes a cattery, dog kennels, isolation units and a play area.
Adoption visits are by appointment Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and other times by arrangement. To schedule an appointment, call 575-805-5338. To make sure a staff person is available when you come to visit, please call first.
Safe Haven was founded in 1996 as a private, 501(C)3, non-profit, tax-exempt organization. A group of animal lovers from the Las Cruces area envisioned the need for a sanctuary modeled after the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah—the largest “no-kill” facility in the nation.
Our sanctuary is the largest no-kill facility of its type in Doña Ana County. Shelter is provided for abused and abandoned dogs and cats and those needing a home because owners are no longer able to care for them. We make every effort to adopt out pets into new, loving homes. Animals that are not adopted live out their lives at Safe Haven in dignity, well cared for, and treated with love and respect.
Safe Haven is not affiliated with or financed by any municipal, county, state or federal government agency. We depend on the generosity of the community through monetary gifts, bequests, grants and donations of items to our thrift store, and subsequent thrift store sales.

About
APA is a progressive animal welfare organization seeking to improve the quality of life for companion animals in Dona Ana County and greatly reduce the number of unwanted animals impounded and euthanized at the municipal shelter.
APA actively promotes responsible pet guardianship to all of its program recipients. By receiving food or other support from us in their of economic need, people agree to meet their pets’ basic physical and social needs (fresh food and water daily, adequate shelter, and companionship/attention). We are here to help companion animals only–not any animals people use for monetary or other gain, such as only for utilitarian uses (guard dogs, etc.). We also do not help breeders.
We also counsel people on keeping their vaccinations up-to-date and to spay and neuter all their pets in order to give back to the community who is generously providing the food and funds to purchase food.
We ask that people contact us about their pet care issues or questions. We have information about programs, services, pet behavior and training, and other non-profit groups in the area.

About
The Animal Services Center of the Mesilla Valley (ASCMV) was established in August 2008 through a joint powers agreement between the governing bodies of the City of Las Cruces (City) and Doña Ana County (County). This agreement establishes a mechanism for financing, operating, and maintaining a regional animal shelter and related facilities. The ASCMV is overseen by a board of directors made up of 3 City and 3 County officials. The ASCMV is led by an Executive Director, hired by the ASCMV Board of Directors. The authority and direction of the Executive Director is implemented by public employees hired by the Executive Director to operate the ASCMV. The City is the fiscal agent for the ASCMV.
The ASCMV is the only open-admission municipal animal shelter in the City and County and is an extremely high-intake shelter compared to similarly sized populations. The ASCMV is a progressive animal services center that provides the public with a variety of animal related services, with a focus on returning missing pets to their owners and finding new homes for those pets in need.
The mission of the Animal Service Center of the Mesilla Valley is to provide safe shelter for all lost, mistreated, and abandoned animals of the Mesilla Valley and surrounding communities. The ASCMV utilizes all avenues available to it in placing each animal into a safe, loving, and permanent home whenever possible. We strive to meet the highest standards of humane animal care and husbandry, and to promote responsible pet ownership through public education and outreach.
