About
The mission of Always & Furever Midwest Animal Sanctuary is to provide our senior furry friends a home in a loving, healthy living room setting. Here they can comfortably live out their lives, be they measured in weeks, months or years.
As the first year progressed, volunteers multiplied and attended behavior trainings and barn orientations. Several adoption events took place along with a wildly successful online silent auction. Dogs were fostered as new individuals and families found they could, in fact, find just a bit more space, and lots and lots of dogs found their furever homes. Always lots of dogs.

About
Unleashed Pet Rescue is a licensed, non-profit animal shelter founded in 2011 that works to save the lives of homeless pets and strives to improve the image of bully breeds in society.
We work daily with local high kill shelters throughout the area to pull “unwanted” pets to safety. We work to find homes for pets of all ages, health, temperaments, and history. Each adoptable pet is given the opportunity to thrive.
We are proud to say that we have created an organization that is no-kill and we will not euthanize any animal due to overcrowding. As with most other shelters throughout the nation, there is never enough space to fill the need. Because of this we partner with foster homes throughout Kansas City that help us provide a safe, comfortable situation for our pets until they can find their furever homes.
Unleashed Pet Rescue has been able to thrive because of our incredibly compassionate staff, as well as from the support of donations and marvelous volunteers. When a pet comes into our care, we know that they will be shown love and attention while they wait for their forever family.
Thousands of animals come through our doors each year. We receive no state or federal funding, meaning we rely entirely upon donations to cover our daily operating expenses. Every day our team works hard to providing a safe environment for animals throughout Kansas City. Please see our donations page to learn more about the ways you can help us continue to help our pets in need.

About
As an independent 501(c)(3) no kill shelter, with a 98% live release rate, GPSPCA provides lifesaving services for approximately 4,000 animals annually in the greater Kansas City area. Great Plains SPCA exists because of our caring Kansas City community and generous donors.
To drive change in our community through innovative programs that promote adoption, outreach and a better life for pets and the people who love them.
As an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit, our lifesaving services for animals can only be provided because of your generosity and commitment to our mission. Great Plains SPCA exists solely because of our caring Kansas City community and gracious donors like you.
We proudly report a live-release rate of 98% or higher. Our live-release rate is calculated by the number of adoptions, returns to owner, transfers and other live outcomes for a given time period divided by the total number of animals the shelter brought in for that same period.
We offer a lifelong, full-circle approach for pets and their human companions with our three-pronged approach: prevention, adoption, retention.

About
HHHS supporters who haven’t had the chance to read 123 Years of Caring for Animals 1890-2013 should stop in our Gift Shop to purchase this incredible book. Mary Ann and Roscoe Earp conducted extensive research to create a detailed look at the history of Helping Hands Humane Society. Through newspaper articles and pictures, they traced the history of HHHS from its very beginnings in 1890 all the way to our new facility in 2013. It is a wonderful collection featuring the many developments, challenges, and changes HHHS has faced as well as the incredible people who touched the lives of our sheltered population and helped make HHHS the successful organization it is today.
As advocates for animal welfare, Helping Hands Humane Society, Inc. provides sanctuary for animals in need of compassionate care and protection. We accept responsibility for:
Fostering the adoption of healthy animals into responsible homes and reuniting lost animals with their owners
Reducing overpopulation by promoting sterilization of animals
Providing an accessible facility with effective leadership and well-trained staff
Serving the community through education and addressing animal welfare issues
Maintaining a fiscally responsible organization by adhering to the highest standards of integrity
