About

Dolly’s Legacy Animal Rescue’s mission is to save orphaned and abandoned pets from overcrowded shelters where they are out of time & out of hope to make it out alive. Far too many pets are facing a cruel death at high-intake, high-kill animal control facilities, some still using a gas chamber as a means of euthanasia. We rescue dogs, puppies, cats & kittens, and place them into loving foster homes while they receive all the vet care needed, including spay/neuter, heartworm testing & treatment, vaccinations, microchipping, treatment for parasites, surgical intervention, and hospitalization
Dolly’s Legacy Animal Rescue is an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue group. All the funds donated – 100 percent – go towards our rescue efforts and the orphaned pets in our care. We are a federally registered 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization and a licensed Animal Rescue with the Nebraska Department of Agriculture. We are a member of the Nebraska Rescue Council and an approved rescue with AdoptaPet.com and Petfinder.com. We are a member of Petco Foundation, a PetSmart Charities partner, and Silver Star rated with GuideStar.

About

Pulling up the driveway to Town and Country fills you with the nostalgia of a visit to Grandma’s farm. When you turn onto the gravel road, you’ll feel a part of heart and home existing beyond the welcoming trees. The animals at Town and Country inspire these feelings in everyone they meet. Once you’ve helped a pet find its forever home, you’ll find yourself enriched by Town and Country community. Town and Country is a no-kill animal shelter and rescue operated by volunteers. We provide adoption options for animals who would otherwise be euthanized, such as bully breed dogs and FIV cats. All of our animals are well-cared for and loved. We are humbled to be able to provide a no-time limit environment, allowing all of our animals to stay as long as they need until a loving, appropriate home can be found. Town and Country once housed two black labs for 8 years and a Pitbull for 14 years – all successfully adopted. Every life matters.
Town and Country Humane Society non-profit was opened in December of 1983 when Sarpy County was overloaded with stray dog complaints and needed an answer for animal control. The year prior, the city had collected 125 stray dogs. Town and Country founder Judy Johnson, was an animal control officer who envisioned the picture-perfect solution. The location of a former Tully’s Kennels puppy breeding site on south 84th street provided a seamless location with already built-in dog kennels. Judy operated Town and Country’s dog catcher and animal control operation out of a single building. Town and Country was further responsible for complaints of wild animals such as skunks, rats and cock fighting. In 1990, 53 raccoons were captured and released into the wild. A menagerie of animals including goats, pigs and even a python had found themselves abandoned at our site.
Through the 90’s Town and Country saw the worst abuse and neglect cases. Volunteers worked tirelessly to care for the the facilities while tending to and providing veterinarian care for animals that may never see adoption and the toll was devastating. Among the most disturbing were horses with over grown hooves and emaciated animals. At that time, unclaimed animals (after three days) were placed up for adoption. After two weeks, unfortunately, the pets were euthanized as stated by a city ordinance.

About

We are a “No-Kill” animal rescue organization comprised of like-minded people whose mission is to rescue, provide sanctuary, medical treatment, sterilization, and rehabilitation to relinquished, abandoned, abused, or neglected animals. Our ultimate goal is re-homing these animals into stable, responsible new homes. The top priority of our group is to educate the public about the companion animal overpopulation and to stress the importance of spaying and neutering animals. We will advocate for animals who are imprisoned in puppy mills and catteries. We will fight locally and nationally for their humane treatment with a goal of ending commercial mill-style breeding of companion animals.
Our principles:
1. To always operate in the best interest of the animals we take into our program and to advocate for humane treatment and the proper care of any animal in shelters and in private homes.
2. To provide top quality care for the animals we take in for as long as they are in our program and to provide ongoing support to our adoptors.
3. To always maintain a manageable number of animals in our system whereby we can ensure proper medical attention, behavioral training, and housing.
4. To rescue any animal without discrimination based on breed, age, disposition, and medical condition.
5. To provide our community education and resources that will result in the highest level of care for animals, an increase in spay/neuter surgeries, and a decrease in the abuse, neglect, and abandonment of animals.
6. To treat our volunteers, adoptors, and partners with understanding, patience and support.

About

We are a small group of rescuers in the Omaha area.
Special people volunteer to show their love and dedication to helping these animals. Our animals find a temporary loving home with our foster parents while awaiting furever families. We rescue animals that have found themselves in difficult situations by no fault of their own. Health, age, or breed does not matter to us. We don’t discriminate.
We raise public awareness through community education of the homeless animals and the benefits of adopting an animal in need.
Our rescued animals are examined, vaccinated, and spayed/neutered before they are placed in carefully screened homes.

About

12 Hills Dog Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non profit family run rescue located on our farm near the community of Walthill NE. We were a semi-retired couple who decided to start a small rescue because of the need in our area. Little did we know a dog here with a litter of puppies would turn out to be a full-blown rescue and our life’s passion! It is a BIG job for the two of us, so we welcome and appreciate help from our co-worker Brenda, family and any volunteers that have extra time and funds to help out.
We take in all dogs that are abandoned, neglected, abused and surrendered in our immediate area. Each rescue has a different need and personality, but they will always find love and care here as we see to their health and emotional needs. Our goal for the dogs we rescue, is to find loving and caring homes for each of them.
12 Hills Dog Rescue accepts donations to help us pay for veterinary expenses. (example — Spaying and neutering, immunizations). Dog food, pet toys and bedding is always something needed and appreciated. We are so thankful for the caring people who have helped in a variety of ways. This year we had donations of food, toys and treats besides some monetary gifts to help with the dogs health needs.
For 2020 our goal is to continue to help those abandoned and neglected dogs, but to hopefully get our number of dogs down, so that we can give the dogs we have more attention and training.

About

Pug Partners of Nebraska is a 501c3, non-profit organization comprised of dedicated volunteers who are committed to rescuing and re-homing pugs in need. We believe that all pugs deserve a chance to be loved and to love a human companion.
The majority of our rescue pugs come from what is called a puppy mill (a mass breeding facility), and we are very dedicated to these special dogs and providing them with the life they deserve. Our main purpose is to provide all of our rescue pugs with a loving foster home, quality dog food, medical care, and any other need that they may have while in our care. Our ultimate goal is to place each pug into a forever family that will continue to show the pug love, attention, and provide the care that they each deserve.
We strive to educate our adopters and the public about our wonderful pug breed. Although pugs are quite different from most breeds, we want to show people how amazing these small dogs can be, and how they are great companions.
Pug Partners of Nebraska provides a service to the community for pugs in need, by rescuing purebred pugs that are in shelters, puppy mills, whose owners can no longer care for them, and for those who have become lost/abandoned and to place them in a loving and safe permanent home where they will be loved and cared for as companion pets.
